Gamix Open Platform Console

The details are pretty darn murky, but Gamix hopes to define an open spefication for others to make a console and develop for it. This essentially comes down to a medium-range PC running apparently Linux. Needless to say, thoughts of this nipping at the heels of Sony or Microsoft doesn't seem likely, but it's always interesting to see someone try.

More to the point, it shows the interest that's out there. Homebrew projects also show that people want to be able to develop for their hardware without having to secure a loan in order to start.
