Gilmore Girls is
calling it quits after seven seasons. While it might surprise some that I would even make note of that, not having once ever mentioned the show even in passing - it doesn't bode well for Veronica Mars getting another season. Veronica's increased ratings have been often attributed to having a strong follow through from being positioned after Gilmore Girls.
